山下旌旗在望,
Flags and banners in sight below,
山头鼓角相闻。
Drum-beats mingle atop with bugle-blast.
敌人围困万千重,
Surrounded ring on ring by the foe,
我自岿然不动。
Aloft we still stand fast.
早已森严壁垒,
Our ranks as firm as rock,
更加众志成城。
Our wills form a new wall.
黄洋界上炮声隆,
The cannon roared at Huangyang Block,
报道敌军宵遁。
The foe fled at night-fall.
